Squat Challenge - In aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital

Writer's picture: Sharon ThompsonSharon Thompson

My gorgeous granddaughter has been diagnosed with double hip dysplasia and is going to have a couple of operations at the world famous children's hospital in March - fingers crossed - after a Covid related delay.

I was also treated at this hospital as a small child, so it has a special place in my heart and know my granddaughter will be well looked after.

It was purely coincidental that I came across this challenge, which is to complete 1400 squats in the month of February. Obviously it's a great thing to do anyway, raise funds, raise awareness of the amazing work this hospital does for some very sick children, etc but another benefit is to do some daily exercise.

All this Pilates I do really has been very beneficial and I'm enjoying doing squats in the traditional way but also on the Pilates apparatus: it really is a versatile system of exercise. If you're thinking of starting Pilates, then absolutely do - you won't regret it!!
